- Take 2 eggs and beat them in a thick foam.
- Soften the butter. To do this, you need to get it out of the refrigerator early or slightly heat in the microwave. Add sour cream and butter to the beaten eggs.
- Mix everything thoroughly, you can even use the mixer at low speeds.
- Sift flour directly into the resulting mass and add baking powder there.
- Knead the dough until it becomes homogeneous, elastic and sticks to your hands.
- Divide the kneaded dough into two unequal parts: 2/3 of the dough goes to the bottom, and 1/3 - to the top of the pie. Roll two balls out of the pieces. If the baking dish has a rectangular shape, then two rectangular thick cakes can be formed. Put them in a bowl or any other container, cover with cling film and put in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Cooking stuffing
- Finely chop the onion.
- Grate the carrots. Finely chop the cabbage, but as an option, you can chop it and quite large - it depends on the tastes and preferences of the hostess.
- Add a little vegetable oil to a hot pan. Fry onions and carrots until golden brown. Put cabbage in a pan and fry a little. After that pour in a little water, salt and, reducing the fire, simmer for about 15 minutes under a closed lid.
- Boil the fish, remove the bones from it, divide into pieces.
- After cooking the cabbage, it must be cooled and mixed with fish fillet. Let the filling stand a little in a bowl so that excess liquid is at the bottom of the glass. It is important that this liquid does not get into the cake, otherwise it will not bake normally or the dough will burst, releasing all the flavoring to the outside. Cabbage with fish should be slightly added and spices added to taste. To the inside of the cake was fragrant and not dry, you can put a few pieces of butter.
Collect the pie
- Turn on and warm the oven to 200 C. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. It should become even more plastic than before. Knead and mix it is not necessary! Immediately roll out a layer from a larger piece of dough, which in width and length will be 5-6 cm larger than the baking sheet on which the cake will be baked. This is necessary in order to bend the edges and form the sides of the cake.
- From a smaller piece of dough, roll out a thin and corresponding to the size of the baking sheet layer, from which the top of the pie will be formed.
- Put a baking sheet with parchment paper and a little grease with oil (as an option, sprinkle with flour). Lay out the first layer in this way: sprinkle with flour and wind it on a rolling pin. Then carefully unwind directly onto the baking sheet. Shape the edges.
- Carefully shift the filling, not forgetting that the excess liquid should not get into the pie! Distribute cabbage and fish evenly.
- Just like the first layer, wrap the second on a rolling pin and unwind directly into a baking sheet.
- Press the edges. It is superfluous to cut off. If in some corner there is not enough dough, it's okay - you can insert extra pieces. The edges can also be pinched somehow beautifully, for example, to form a pigtail.
- Decorate the cake.From extra dough to make leaves, flowers, nets - everything that your heart desires. In general, remember how in childhood they sculpted from plasticine!
- Grease the assembled and decorated pie from above with a beaten egg - then you get a very tasty crust! You can also sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in the oven for 200 C for about 50 minutes. Get it, cool it and enjoy your meal!
