Kitchen appliances and utensils:
- oven,
- deep bowl;
- a spatula or spoon for kneading dough;
- baking dish (with a diameter of approximately 24 cm);
- parchment paper;
- a dish for serving pie.
Ingredients
Product name | amount |
Kefir | 200 ml |
Jam | 200 ml |
Flour | 300-350 g |
Sugar | 50-70 g |
Eggs | 2 pcs. |
Soda | 1 tsp |
Butter | 10 g |
Powdered sugar | 2-3 tbsp. l |
Step cooking
- Put a glass of jam in a deep bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of soda, stir well and leave for 5 minutes. This time is necessary for the soda to react with jam acid. You will see how the mass, foaming, begins to change color to a lighter and increase in volume. After that, you can add the rest of the ingredients.
- Pour 50-70 g of sugar - be guided by the sweetness of your jam: the sweeter it is, the less sugar will be needed. Stir a little
- Pour a glass (200 g) of kefir, add 2 eggs and mix well to get a homogeneous mass.
- Gradually stirring the resulting mixture, pour flour into it (about 300 g) and now mix well. The amount of flour will depend on the density of the jam: if it is thick enough, then less flour will be needed, if liquid - more. As a result, you should get a liquidy dough of the consistency of thick sour cream.
- Turn on the oven to warm up to 180 degrees. We take a mold with a diameter of about 24 cm (convenient if it will be detachable), line the bottom with baking paper and grease with butter. If the mold is silicone, paper is not needed. It is enough to grease such a form with butter and sprinkle lightly with flour, semolina or bread crumbs, so that the cake is easier to take out.
- Pour the dough into a mold, smooth it well and send it to bake in a preheated oven for about 1 hour. The time given is approximate, since it will depend on your oven, on the diameter of the mold and the height of the dough in it. If the diameter is larger than the proposed, then, accordingly, the thickness of the baked cake will be less, which means it will bake faster.
- You can always check the readiness with an ordinary match or a wooden toothpick: if when piercing the cake in the center, where it is thickest, the toothpick comes out of it dry, then the cake is ready. If the dough sticks to it, then leave it to sweat in the oven for a while.
We take out the finished cake from the oven and let it cool completely, only after that we take it out of the form and sprinkle with powdered sugar. For this, 2-3 tablespoons will be enough.
