Preparation of raw materials and ingredients
- Grate Dutch cheese (150 g) on a coarse grater and put in a bowl.
- Raw smoked sausage (100 g) cut into thin slices.
- On parchment paper, roll puff pastry (450 g) with a rolling pin into a rectangular layer, 5-6 mm thick.
Folding
- On a rolled dough sheet (2/3 of its length) cut parallel strips of equal width.
- On the opposite, not cut edge of the dough, evenly spread tomato sauce with a spoon (4 tbsp. L.). Take any sauce that you like best, preferably, of course, with garlic, Italian herbs, pepper, and quite thick. You can take tomato paste of good quality.
- Put the filling on it in the following order: a layer of grated cheese, a layer of sliced sausage, and again a layer of cheese. Cheese, as it were, holds together the filling and connects the cake to the sausage so that it does not crumble.
- Wrap the edge of the layer so that the filling is inside between the layers of dough. Using parchment paper, twist the dough into a loose roll, towards the cut strips.
- Cover the baking tray with a sheet of parchment paper. Put a roll of puff pastry on it and form a large ring. Correct the ring on the baking sheet, giving it the correct round shape. Tuck the tails of the strips under the ring so that they do not protrude in different directions during baking.
- Lubricate the surface of the pie on all sides with a beaten egg and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Baking
Place a baking tray with pizza in a preheated oven. Bake the product on the middle shelf, at a temperature of 180 ° C, for 25-30 minutes, until a golden brown crust appears.
Submission and registration
- Allow the baked pizza to cool slightly and serve to the table as a whole or cut in a circle into small portions.
- Place fresh greens around the perimeter of the plate: green lettuce, basil twigs, green onion, parsley or dill. Any greens will give this dish brightness and freshness.
