Step cooking
- Rinse the pork meat (0.5 kg) and cut into small cubes. Peel the carrots (1 piece) and cut into small cubes. Peel and chop the onion (1 piece) into small cubes.
- Pour vegetable oil (2-3 tablespoons) into the multicooker bowl.
- Put the onions and carrots, diced into cubes, into the bowl, and use a spatula to evenly distribute them along the bottom of the bowl.
- Close the lid and turn on the multicooker in the "Frying" mode for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, open the lid, mix the fried onions and carrots with a spatula and put the meat sliced into pieces. Stir the contents of the bowl.
- Fry the pork for another 10 minutes. This can be done both with the lid closed and with the open. Wash barley (1 cup) in several waters until clean water is obtained. Put washed pearl barley in a multicooker bowl to the fried meat with vegetables.
- Add salt (a tablespoon), ground black pepper (to taste) and hot water (2 cups) to the bowl. Mix everything.
- Close the lid, turn on the “Cooking” mode for 1 hour. During this cooking mode, there is no need to open the multicooker lid and mix the contents of the bowl.
- After the multicooker sounds, the dish is ready. It can already be served.
Decoration methods and serving options
Barley with meat, cooked in a slow cooker, serve hot, laid out on a serving plate. Add to this dish seasonal vegetable salad or pickles prepared for the future. Serve for lunch or dinner.
