Step cooking
- Pour 100 g of raisins with hot water and leave to swell for 10 minutes.
- After that, drain the water through a colander, leave the raisins to drain a little. Then pour it on a clean cotton towel and blot it, remove excess moisture.
- Cut into small cubes 80 g of butter, send it into a deep bowl. Add 70 g of sugar.
- Beat with a mixer for several minutes to make the mass fluffy, sugar dissolved. You can replace butter with margarine, but it’s better to stick to the classic recipe.
- Then we drive one egg, one pinch of salt and beat it with a mixer for another 2-3 minutes to make a lush mass.
Did you know? First, put the egg in a separate bowl to make sure it is suitable. If you drive directly into the dough, then you can spoil it completely, if the egg is not the first freshness. - Sift 180 g of flour into a separate bowl, add one teaspoon of baking powder, mix.
- Add the flour to the oil mass in small portions, knead the elastic dough without lumps.
- From one lemon or orange, rub a teaspoon of zest and send to the dough. If you do not like zest, you can skip this step. You can add any other ingredients, such as walnuts or candied fruits.
- We also send raisins here, mix them so that the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- The result is a soft, uniform dough that sticks to your hands.
- Now we cover the baking sheet with parchment paper, a silicone mat or just a sheet of grease with vegetable oil or sprinkle with flour. Now we will form the cookie blanks. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, you can put on disposable rubber gloves, moisten them with water or lubricate with vegetable oil. Then we take a piece of dough in our hand and roll up a ball the size of a walnut.
- We repeat this procedure with the whole test, put the balls on a baking sheet, gently press them with your hand. We maintain a distance of about 2 cm between the workpieces, because cookies will increase in size during baking. From this amount of dough, up to 30 cookies are obtained.
- We send it to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 15-20 minutes. The baking time will depend on the features of your oven.
- When the cookies are browned, you can get them out of the oven. Allow the baking to cool slightly, then transfer to a flat dish. To decorate cookies, you can use powdered sugar just by sprinkling it on top.
