Step cooking
- It is necessary to prepare the filling for bagels in advance. If you have liquid jam, then the liquid must be drained. To do this, jam from the jar is transferred to a colander. During the preparation of the dough, all the liquid from the jam drains, and only berries suitable for the filling remain. 200 g of butter or margarine is cut into pieces in a deep metal bowl and melted to a liquid state over moderate heat. Make sure that the oil does not boil or does not burn, otherwise it can significantly spoil the taste of the finished bagels.
- Remove the bowl with melted butter from the heat, add 200 g of sour cream and mix thoroughly. 1/2 tsp extinguish soda 1 tsp. vinegar and immediately pour into a mixture of oil and sour cream. Mix well.
- 500 g of flour are added in small portions to the prepared mixture, each time mixing the dough well.
- When the dough becomes thick, continue to knead with your hands. Ready dough for bagels should be soft and plastic. Immediately after preparing the dough, divide it into 6 equal parts.
- Prepared for baking bagels, cover the baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- On a table lightly sprinkled with flour, each of the 6 parts of the dough is rolled out one by one. You should get a circle with a thickness of 1 - 2 mm.
- We cut the rolled circle with a knife into 8 parts so that we get 8 identical triangles.
- On the base of each triangle we put 1 tsp. preserves.
- We twist each of the triangles into a bagel and roll in sugar.
- We put all the bagels in turn on the prepared baking sheet with parchment.
- We put a baking sheet with bagels in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 20 - 25 minutes.
- Ready bagels must be immediately removed from parchment paper and transferred to a wide dish for serving. If bagels are allowed to cool on a baking sheet, then removing them from parchment paper will already be problematic.
