Step cooking
Today we will cook a simple, crisp, moderately sweet shortbread cookie on sour cream and butter.
When choosing a creamy product of one or another producer, take an interest in its quality with friends, neighbors, and relatives.
We place 200 grams of butter in the refrigerator for one hour so that it freezes well. When choosing this product for cookies, pay attention to the freshness of the oil, buy at proven points where you had to do it before.
- We take out the oil from the refrigerator, cut it into small cubes. We take 320 grams of flour, sift through a sieve. Buy flour also in those outlets where you did it before, are confident in the quality of this product and fully trust the manufacturer. Chilled butter is placed in a bowl, we also send the sifted flour there, we rub it well with our hands. We should get a homogeneous crumb.
- When the butter and flour are mashed, add 125 grams of sour cream to this composition. For cookies, you can take both 15 percent and 20 percent sour cream, do not forget to only check the product for freshness, do not buy expired sour cream.
- After that, quickly knead the dough. It should turn out soft.
- We spread it on the table, roll it out with one layer one centimeter thick. Now this dough needs to be divided into eight equal parts. Cut into four parts lengthwise, then cut once across. We got 8 equal oblong parts, from which we will form cookies.
- We will form a ball from each layer and place it in a bowl. Cookies are prepared very quickly, the balls just do not have time to dry, so do not cover the bowl with a lid. We give the ball the shape of a brick, then roll it into a 22 by 15 centimeter formation. We help ourselves with our hands, attach a neat rectangular shape to the dough, then pour 0.5 teaspoon of sugar on it. With our hands we level the sugar on the surface of the layer, not reaching one and a half centimeter to each long edge.
- We will form a loose tube, work out the seam - you can not pinch it, but simply smudge it like plasticine.
- Pour half a tablespoon of sugar on the board and redeem the tube in it, it should be in sugar on all sides. We will carry out such actions with all other balls.
- We cut the ends of the dough on both sides of the tube, but this is not necessary. Uncut sugar tubes will have protruding ends on both sides, but the cookie will not lose its taste from this.
- We cut each tube into four parts, roll it around the table a bit to give it a round shape.
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. We transfer the rollers to a baking sheet covered with food paper, send it to the oven for 40-45 minutes.
No need to change the temperature when baking. If it is raised, the cookies will brown on top, but will be raw inside. Also, you should not bake such a product in a gas oven without a thermometer. Sugar tubes should be rosy from below and light from above, crunchy even to the touch. The resulting caramel crust can be removed using an ordinary grater.
When the cookies have cooled, sprinkle the icing sugar on top. Now you can serve and delight children, treat friends, relatives, good neighbors.
