Step cooking
- First, send to the fire a stewpan with a thick bottom, in which we put 200 g of butter or margarine. Melt it on a small fire, stirring constantly, do not let it boil. After that, wait a few minutes for the oil to cool, and pour it into a deep bowl.
- We add 220 g of sugar, 8 g of vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt to the oil. Mix thoroughly with a whisk or mixer.
- Then one by one add 4 chicken eggs. After each added, beat the liquid mixture a little.
- Then add 110 g of starch and mix until smooth, break the lumps. Sift 500 g of flour into a separate bowl, then add half of it to the liquid mass, pour 2 tsp. baking powder and mix. The baking powder can replace 1 tsp. soda, slaked vinegar, or citric acid.
- Then add the remaining flour in parts, knead a soft, elastic dough that does not stick to your hands. The amount of flour for each housewife may need a different one, it all depends on the size of the eggs and the total weight of the liquid mass.
- Ready dough can be used immediately. For example, you can roll walnut-sized balls out of it, spread on a baking sheet and send to bake. But we wrap the dough with cling film or you can just put it in a plastic bag and send it to the freezer for 2 hours.
- After that we take out the dough, cut off the third part from it. We wrap the rest again and send it to the refrigerator. Sprinkle flour on the work surface and spread the dough. From a cut dough we roll out a layer 4-5 mm thick using a rolling pin. Now we take molds and cut out various figures. You can connect children to this process, for them it will be a very exciting experience.
- We cover the baking sheet with parchment paper, lay out the figures. If desired, you can decorate the figures. Take a half of the walnut kernel and squeeze it a little into the cookie figure.
- We send the pan to the oven, bake for 15-18 minutes at a temperature of 190 degrees. Each baking time can be different, it depends on the features of the oven. Then repeat the same procedure with the remaining test. We take out the ready-made cookies, roll it still warm, or sprinkle with icing sugar, serve for tea
