Step cooking
- Weigh 150 grams of sour cream in a deep dough mixing bowl. It should not be very oily, not more than 20% fat. Pour a teaspoon of baking powder. If the baking powder is not in the kitchen, or you are used to using baking soda, it is better to extinguish it first with vinegar or lemon juice.
- Add 3 tablespoons of natural honey. If the honey is sugared, it needs to be slightly flooded in a water bath or in the microwave. If desired, natural bee honey can be replaced with artificial, or sugar. Other sweeteners may also be used.
- Beat one chicken egg. It is advisable to use homemade eggs, which will give the liver a pleasant yellowish tint.
- Mix thoroughly so that all ingredients are evenly distributed in the total mass.
- Add half a teaspoon of kitchen salt. A small amount of salt will create a balance of tastes and eliminate possible cloying products.
- Pour 300 grams of cornmeal. Remember to pre-sift the flour. This will remove possible impurities, saturate it with oxygen, which will give the products an additional volume. Add flour in small portions, gradually stirring with a spoon or a pastry shovel.
- After adding the entire volume of flour, proceed to kneading by hand. It is not necessary to knead the dough for a long time: the finished dough has a uniform consistency, very soft and plastic.
- We proceed to the formation of cookies. Divide the finished dough into small pieces, give them the shape of balls. Press the balls lightly with your palms until you get flat cakes of regular round shape with a thickness of 1.5 - 2 cm.
- Cover the baking sheet or baking sheet with parchment paper or a special silicone baking mat. Lubricating the baking surface is not necessary. Put the cookies at a distance of at least 1.5 - 2 cm from each other so that they do not stick together during baking.
- Sprinkle each product with sesame seeds. In total, about 20 grams of seeds will be needed. Sesame seed can be replaced with any other sprinkle you like: poppy seeds, sesame seeds, flax, chopped walnuts, peanuts, sugar, etc.
- Place the cookies in the oven, preheated to a temperature of 180 degrees. Bake without opening the oven for 17-20 minutes.
- After baking, allow the products to cool slightly, then transfer to a dish.
