Step cooking
Biscuit
- In a deep bowl, put the butter softened at room temperature. You can use margarine, but also softened. Cut the butter / margarine into pieces with a knife.
- Pour 2 cups sugar (400 g) into the oil.
- Add 200 g of sour cream, you can take any fat content, if only it was fresh.
- Beat one egg and pour a pinch of salt.
- Now you can mix everything well with a mixer. A viscous, beautiful mass without lumps and splashes should be obtained.
- Add baking powder to the resulting mass, and then gradually start pouring flour.
- First stir with a spoon, then beat thoroughly with a mixer, and in the end just knead with your hands. The dough should not be tight, but not sticky to the hands.
- If the dough is ready, divide it into 4 parts. Wrap each piece in plastic wrap and refrigerate. So the dough “reaches” the desired condition, becomes more plastic, and the remaining pieces will not be airy while you cook from one. Let the dough stand for 1-1.5 hours in the refrigerator. You will make legs out of two sachets, and hats out of the other two.
- After the appointed time, get one bag of dough. Cut the dough into pieces to make it convenient to work.
- From the pieces, roll the flagella 1 cm in diameter and cut into short sticks. You can arrange the legs of the mushrooms on one side thicker, on the other already.
- With the second bag, do the same. So that the legs are less deformed and do not blur during baking, send them to freeze for 30 minutes.
- Turn on the oven at 200 ° C. Make mushroom caps from the third and fourth pack of dough. The procedure is almost the same: cut into pieces, then into pieces.
- Form balls that spit out a little on the surface of the table.
- Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the hat blanks on it so that they do not touch each other.
- Bake the hats for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- After baking, allow the hats to cool for a couple of minutes, and cut a recess with a knife from the inside in the middle in the middle.
- Remove the legs from the freezer and transfer to a baking sheet. Bake just like hats.
- After cooling, the finished legs can be grated a little to give a rounded shape.
Glaze
- Now prepare the icing: add the powdered sugar to the egg white and knead thoroughly.
- When the glaze becomes very thick and stretching, it is ready.
- Put part of it in a pastry bag, and cover the rest with a damp towel.
- Connect the mushrooms: squeeze a little glaze into the recesses in the hats and glue the leg. Mushrooms leave to dry upside down.
- Dilute part of the glaze with water to make it liquid.
- Dip the fungus leg into the resulting liquid. Turn over again and allow to dry. It takes 10-15 minutes.
- Dilute a little more thick glaze with a couple of teaspoons of water and dip the very tip of the leg. While the icing is not frozen, sprinkle the bottom of the legs with dry poppy seeds. Let dry again.
- Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave. Dip a fungus hat in it.
- Put drying on a wire rack from the oven with the hats up.
- Now the mushrooms are ready. Find a wicker basket and put your mushrooms in it. It will be just lovely!
Video recipe
Be sure to watch the video if you want to see all the nuances of making “Mushrooms” cookies. Make sure that nothing is impossible, and you can no doubt repeat the same thing as the heroine of the video.
Cookies "mushrooms" will be a wonderful gift for children of all ages, and for adults too. Moreover, not only as an end result, but also as an option for spending time together. Of course, doing them is a rather laborious, but fascinating process. Let the children show imagination and decorate the mushrooms in their own way.
Instead of the classic black and white design, you will have unique mushrooms. Offer the children many different options and let them do it. For example:
- powder for Easter - sticks, hearts, circles;
- colored glaze;
- caramel crumbs;
- coconut flakes;
- white or colored chocolate.
