Step cooking
Prepare the products
- Peel potatoes in an amount of 1 kg from the peel, and then thoroughly rinse with running water. As soon as the excess liquid drains, we cut the potatoes into small sticks, 1.5 to 2 cm long.
- We peel one large onion from the husk, and then finely chop with a sharp knife.
Prepare the fish
- We thoroughly rinse the halibut weighing about 800 g, after which we clean it of scales and carefully remove the insides. Cut off the head, tail and fins, and then again thoroughly wash the fish and wipe with paper towels. Cut the peeled halibut into steaks, the thickness of which does not exceed 3 cm.
- Each piece of fish is pepper and salt in accordance with personal taste preferences. Some cooks additionally sprinkle each steak with a small amount of lemon juice - it will give the product a special pleasant aroma and a more delicate taste.
Collect the dish
- Pour chopped potatoes into a rectangular glass bowl.
- There we spread the chopped onions. We salt and pepper both components to taste, and then pour in 40 ml of olive oil. Stir the prepared mixture well, then evenly distribute it throughout the container.
Bake product
- We heat the oven to a temperature of 180-190 ° C. We send the glass container with the potato mixture to the preheated oven. Bake vegetables for 20-25 minutes.
- After the specified time, we remove the potatoes from the oven and spread halibut steaks on top of it. We return the product to the oven and bake a treat for another 30-35 minutes.
The final stage
- After this time, we check the potatoes for readiness.
- Turn off the oven and leave the dish with the door closed for another 5-10 minutes.
- We take the treat out of the oven and arrange it on plates.
