Kitchen appliances and utensils:
- a small bowl for kneading dough;
- silicone or wooden spatula;
- a blender or mixer with whisks;
- sieve for sifting flour;
- bowls for dough coloring - 3 pcs .;

- food wrap - by consumption (or bags - 3 pcs.);

- an oven with a baking sheet;
- baking parchment - the size of a baking sheet;
- kitchen knife;
- serving dish.
Ingredients
Premium flour | 160 g |
Butter 65-72% | 110 g |
Egg | 1 PC. |
Powdered sugar | 40-50 g |
Salt | 1 pinch |
Vanilla sugar | taste |
Peppermint extract (optional) | 1/2 tsp |
Food colors (preferably helium) | 2 pcs. different colors for consumption |
Step cooking
Prepare the dough
- We take in advance 110 g of oil from the refrigerator to soften it.
- Transfer the butter to a mixing bowl and beat it with a whisk with a blender. Add vanilla sugar to the oil to taste and 40-50 g of powdered sugar.
- Continue to beat the ingredients until smooth. Separate the yolk from the egg, add it to the dough and beat until smooth.
- With a tablespoon, divide the dough into 3 identical parts, transfer them to each of the bowls. We clean the mixing bowl. In 2 of 3 bowls with dough, add a different dye and knead with a fork until the color is uniform, the saturation is controlled by the amount of dye. One of the bowls is left without dye, the dough from it will serve as a white strip in cookies.
- In a bowl for kneading dough, sift through a sieve 160 g flour with 1 pinch of salt.
- Alternately in all the bowls, knead the dough of a different color. To do this, gradually add 1/3 of the flour from its total amount to each of the bowls, mix the dough with your hands, then put it on a board or a flat surface, and roll out to an elastic state. The dough should not be torn, so you need to be careful with the amount of flour.
- We form a cake from each part of the dough, wrap it individually in plastic wrap or bags, and send it to the refrigerator for 60 minutes. The dough will cool during this time and become a little denser.
Cooking Cookies
- Turn on the preheat oven to 180 degrees. We take out the dough from the refrigerator, free from the film, knead and spread on a flat surface. Alternately, we tear off a small piece from each part of the dough, form a ball with a diameter of about 2-2.5 cm from it and roll it out with a thin sausage.
- We put together 2-3 sausages of different colors and carefully twist them with a spiral. We bend the top of the spirals in the form of a cane handle (or hook).
- Cover the baking sheet with baking parchment. We put the formed canes on parchment, send the baking sheet to the oven for 10 minutes. Bake cookies until white stripes of dough are slightly golden in color.
