Ingredients
- Cabbage - 2.5 kg
- Beets of medium size - 2-3 pcs.
- Carrots - 5-6 pcs.
- Bay leaf - to taste
- Garlic - 1 head
- Sugar - 3 tsp.
- Salt - 3 tbsp. l
- Vinegar - 6 tbsp. l
- Water - 3 L
- Black pepper to taste
- Red pepper to taste
Step cooking
- We cut the head of cabbage weighing 2.5 kg into 4 parts, then each into 5-6 parts.
- Peel 5-6 carrots and cut them into circles.
- Beets - 2-3 pcs. - cut into circles, then in half.
- We clean the head of garlic, cut the teeth in half.
- We prepare a brine based on 1 liter of water: 1 tbsp. l salt, 2 tbsp. l vinegar, 1 tsp. Sahara. About 3 liters of brine will be needed. Stir it until the bulk solids dissolve.
- First we add a layer of cabbage in a jar.
- Then we distribute a layer of beets.
- We lay a layer of carrots. Add the garlic. Sprinkle with red and black pepper. Do not forget to put a bay leaf.
- Repeat the distribution of layers. Pour vegetables with brine.
- Set the load on top and leave to marinate at room temperature. The pickling time depends on the variety of cabbage and can be from 4 to 10 days.
Useful Tips
- In this recipe, spicy lovers can use hot pepper by slicing it.
- You can add a little vegetable oil to the marinade.
- It is permissible to make such cabbage in a hot marinade, then it will be ready in just a few hours. But her taste will be somewhat different and she will not crunch.
