Step cooking
- First, prepare the dough for manti. Pour one glass of water into a medium-sized bowl, beat one egg, mix well.
- Now add the flour gradually, knead the dough so that it is soft. Therefore, do not immediately pour all the flour into the bowl, but add a little bit, getting the right consistency. You can add a little salt to the dough, but this is not necessary, you can just salt the water in which the manti will be boiled.
- We spread the dough on the table and carefully roll it up, cover it with a bowl, let it rest for 20 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the filling for manti.
- One and a half kilograms of pumpkin cut into strips, peel. Then cut the strips into small cubes. When buying a pumpkin, pay attention to its color. It should be bright orange, and the product itself is holistic, without damage from above.
- We clean the onion, wash it under the tap, chop finely. It is better to use sweet onions, this will add piquancy to the filling.
- In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin, onion, add 0.5 teaspoon of red pepper, mix everything, salt to taste, set aside.
- We return to the test and begin to roll manti. Divide the dough into two parts, we roll each of them.
- Then we roll out one of them very thinly.
- When you get a thin sheet, wrap it on a rolling pin, lay it in layers.
- And then cut the dough into equal strips.
- We open each strip, put them on top of each other, cut off the edges.
- Now we cut this combination with identical squares.
- We lay out the squares on the table, and in each of them we put a tablespoon of the filling. We carry out the same actions with the other half of the test.
- It will be very tasty if you put a small piece of butter on top of the filling. You can choose what you are used to using, and are confident in its quality.
- It's time to sculpt manti. We connect the upper corners of the squares crosswise.
- You will get a closed square, but there will remain gaps below - we will connect them in pairs. Now our product is closed, you can send manti to the mantle.
- We take sheets from a double boiler, grease them with vegetable oil, spread the manti on top, and send them to the mantle for cooking.
- After 40 minutes, the dish will be ready.
