Step cooking
Cooking dough
- In a mixing bowl, pour 500 ml of water, pour 1 tbsp. l salt, stir with a spoon until dissolved. Constantly stirring with a spoon, add about 1 kg of flour to the water.
- We continue to knead the thickened dough with our hands, add 1 tbsp to it. l vegetable oil.
- The dough should become soft and elastic. Wrap the dough in cling film or bag, put it to rest.
Cooking Stuffing
- We clean 3-5 bulbs and cut them into medium cubes. There should be a lot of onion in minced meat for mantas, approximately in a ratio of 1: 2 to meat, but you can adjust its amount to your taste.
- In the bowl freed from the dough, put the minced meat, add onion, salt and pepper to taste, gradually add about 150 ml of water for juiciness. In the process of adding ingredients, the minced meat is constantly kneaded by hand.
We form manti
- We get a rested dough and from its parts we form sausages, about 3 cm in diameter.
- We cut sausages into oblong pieces of 5-7 cm, roll them as thin as possible with a rolling pin on a table or cutting board. The thickness of the dough for mantas should be 1-2 mm. It is advisable to sprinkle the rolling surface with flour.
- We spread a lot of minced meat in each piece with our hands or with the help of a spoon, sculpt manti with a “rose”, pinching their edges on top and sides, leaving small open places on top.
- Lubricate the mantle or double boiler with vegetable oil (0.5 tbsp.), Send manti to it, cook for 40 minutes.
Did you know? If you don’t have a pressure cooker (cooker), slow cooker or double boiler, you can use the classic method: put a colander on a pot of boiling water (or just cover it with gauze), and put manti on top of it. Various spices can be added to the water to add flavor to the finished dish.
Various sauces based on sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic and vinegar go well with manti. You can also serve manti by sprinkling them with fried onions or coating them with butter and sprinkling with herbs. Enjoy your meal!
