milk 3.2% fat | 500 ml |
finely ground semolina | 80 g |
sugar | 2-3 tsp |
salt | pinch |
butter 68% fat | 20-30 g |
fresh fruits, berries, jam and other additives | taste |
Step cooking
- Measure with a measured glass half a liter of milk, weigh semolina with a kitchen scale. If you want to make a thinner porridge, take less cereals, about 50-60 ml.
- Pour milk into a stewpan or pan with a thick bottom. Put on medium heat and warm well, without boiling slightly. To prevent milk from escaping during boiling, grease the pan walls a couple of centimeters above the milk level with butter.
- As soon as the milk begins to boil, with a thin stream, with constant stirring, pour the semolina into the milk. Reduce heat to the bare minimum and cook porridge for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Use a spoon or a wide spatula for stirring.
- Add a pinch of salt and a couple teaspoons of sugar. Add sugar or salt in the right amount to taste. Stir and cook one more minute.
- Turn off the heat and remove the porridge from the heat. Add a slice of butter, let it melt and mix the semolina.
- Serve with fresh fruit, berries or jam. If desired, dried fruit can be added to the porridge. To do this, you need to pour boiling water in advance, let stand for 10-12 minutes, and then drain all the liquid. Serve the dish for breakfast, use a flat plate.
Useful Tips
- To obtain a creamy structure of porridge, choose semolina brand "M". This is a very finely ground grits, and grains in such porridge will be almost invisible.
- If you cook porridge with milk, pour a little water on the bottom of the pan so that the milk does not burn.
- To prepare salted cereal, use water and milk in equal proportions. So the taste of semolina will be more tender.
- To achieve the desired consistency, it is important to adhere to proportions. For an average density of porridge, take 6-7 tablespoons per 1 liter of liquid. Try to pour semolina in a thin stream, without rushing.
- Do not forget to constantly stir the semolina so that lumps do not form. Use a spoon or spatula for this.
- To cook such porridge, choose dishes with a thick bottom and walls or with a non-stick coating.
- To enhance the taste, you can add honey, vanilla or cinnamon, dried fruits, candied fruits, various berries and jams at your discretion.
