Gelatin | 5 g |
Water | 30 ml - for gelatin, 30 ml - for powdered sugar |
Lemon or Lime Juice | a few drops |
Step cooking
To get a truly amazing glaze, you will need to break the process down into a few simple but important steps.
Gelatin Preparation
In a small bowl measure 5 grams of gelatin. Instant gelatin or agar agar is best used. Pour it with 30 ml of cold water. Mix water with gelatin well with a spoon and set the mixture aside to swell. It takes 5 to 10 minutes.
Icing sugar
- Weigh 150 grams of powdered sugar and place it in a saucepan.
- Add 30 ml of cold water to powdered sugar and mix well with a whisk until smooth and homogeneous. Place the container with the ingredients on the hob and, stirring with a whisk, bring the mixture to a boil.
- Pour the melted icing sugar into a deep bowl. When choosing a container by volume, keep in mind that in the future you will need to beat the mixture with a mixer until the mass increases.
Mixing prepared ingredients into a cream
- Add the pre-prepared gelatin to the sugar mass. With a whisk, mix the ingredients well until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Make sure that the mass has a uniform appearance. Beat the ingredients with a mixer until you get a lush mass of dense white. In total, you need about 4-5 minutes to beat
t - At this point, a few drops of lemon or lime juice should be added to the cream. Continue whisking the mixture until a thicker consistency. The finished cream should be moderately thick, have a smooth surface and a dense texture.
How to protect the cream from quick solidification
In order for you to decorate all the Easter cakes before the icing acquires a solid structure and hardens, you can use the following method.
- You will need a pot that is slightly smaller in diameter than a bowl.
- Fill it halfway with hot water and place a bowl of icing in it. Under the influence of heat, the glaze will have the desired consistency longer, and you will have enough time to decorate Easter cakes.
- For Easter baking to take on a festive look, you just need to dip the cake in cream and sprinkle with decor.
