Getting Lemon Juice
- To make lemonade, ripe lemons will be required to squeeze the juice out of them. In order to squeeze as much juice from lemons as possible, there are several ways. The fastest and easiest of them is to use a citrus juicer. If you don’t have one, you can squeeze the juice manually, the main thing is to follow the following recommendations.
- Lemon should lie for a while at room temperature, so it will acquire a soft structure and it will be easier to squeeze juice out of it.
- Warmed lemons are even milder than room temperature lemons - put the lemon in a bowl of hot water for 30 seconds, then remove and squeeze the juice.
- To get more juice, lemons can be warmed in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds.
- You should roll the lemon on the working surface, pressing on it with your palm so that the shape of the lemon is slightly deformed, it becomes soft to the touch.
- Cut the lemon in length, not across.
- Squeeze the lemon juice with a fork - insert the fork into the lemon pulp as deep as possible and rotate it.
- In order to get 100 ml of juice, you need 3 to 5 medium lemons, depending on their juiciness.
Making Lemonade
- Wash the lemons thoroughly. After you receive the juice, it should be filtered through a fine sieve so that the bones and pulp do not get into the lemonade.
- Pour juice into the container in which you will serve lemonade. Pour 100 g of sugar and mix well, leave for a while, so that the sugar is completely dissolved. You can grate the zest of lemon on a fine grater, the taste will be more saturated.
- Pour 500 ml of cold water and mix. If you want carbonated lemonade, simply add water with gas instead of plain water. You can adjust the acid of lemonade to your taste - you can add more sugar or more water.
- To decorate the lemonade, we cut one lemon into thin circles and add it to the container for lemonade. You can also add mint leaves, they will give freshness and additional color.
- Next, add ice cubes to the lemonade, the amount of your choice.
- Pour the finished lemonade into glasses and enjoy!
