Ingredients
Product | amount |
Premium wheat flour | 600 - 700 g |
Kefir | 0.5 l |
Chicken egg | 1 PC. |
Soda | 1 tsp |
Salt | 0.5 tsp |
Sugar | 1 tsp |
Vegetable oil | 2 tbsp. l |
Butter | 50 g |
Step cooking
- In a deep container, add 1 chicken egg, 1 tsp. sugar, 0.5 tsp salt, 1 tsp soda and 2 tbsp. l vegetable oil. Mix the entire contents of the container with a whisk.
- Then add 0.5 l of kefir to the resulting mixture and mix well again.
- We take a sieve and through it gradually (in small portions) we begin to sift the flour into our mixture, mixing everything well after each added “portion”. The amount of flour needed in this case will directly depend on the consistency of the kefir we use. On average, you will need from 600 to 700 g.
- When the dough reaches a more or less uniform consistency, you must continue to knead it with your hands on the table (or on a silicone mat), sprinkling with the rest of the flour. The dough should be homogeneous, not liquid, but at the same time, soft, and slightly sticky to the hands.
- The resulting dough must be covered with a deep container and left to "rest" for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, you can begin to cut the dough into tortillas (if necessary, you can sprinkle it with a small amount of flour): we form an oblong “sausage” from it and divide it into 12 identical parts.
- Next, each of the parts is slightly crushed in flour and rolled out using a rolling pin to a cake about 0.5 mm thick.
- In a pan, heat 2 tbsp. l vegetable oil.
- When the oil has warmed up well, shake off the remaining flour from the resulting cakes and fry in a frying pan on both sides until golden.
- Spread the finished cakes on paper towels to remove excess vegetable oil.
- Then, using a silicone brush, lightly grease each of them with melted butter to give a creamy taste (only optional). Enjoy your meal!
Instead of butter, prepared cakes can be coated with sour cream, sprinkled with sugar, grated with garlic or sprinkled with herbs - it all depends on your imagination. Do not be afraid to experiment!
