Step cooking
Preparation of vegetables and rice
- Rinse the rice groats (80 g). Pour rice with water (500 ml), set to boil. After boiling, salt. Cook until cooked, about 15-20 minutes. Cooking time depends on the variety of rice. Discard the finished rice in a colander, wait for cooling. While rice is cooked, take care of the processing of vegetables.
- Wash a large carrot (1 pc.). Peel, grate on a coarse grater.
- Peel the onion (2 pcs.) From the husk, cut into small cubes.
- Fry onions and carrots in vegetable oil (50-60 ml) for 4-5 minutes.
- Cut cabbage (400 g) into strips, and then into slices 1.5-2 cm long.
- Salt, remember with your hands to juice. Cabbage should be soft.
- Prepare the sauce for pouring - mix tomato juice (2 cups) with sour cream (4 tbsp. L.). Stir until smooth. Finely chop the dill (3-4 branches).
Layout and preparation
- Combine the cooled rice, minced meat (600 g), fried onions and carrots, cabbage.
- Beat the minced eggs (2 pcs.).
- Season with salt and pepper (1 pinch of black pepper) to taste. Mix well with a hand or spoon.
- Take a mixture with a tablespoon, with moist hands, form cabbage rolls of oblong shape with a height of about 2.5-3 cm. Heat the pan well, pour vegetable oil (40-50 ml). Fry cabbage rolls on high heat from two sides until golden brown, 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Transfer the fried cabbage rolls to a baking sheet or baking dish.
- Pepper (1 pinch). Pour in tomato-sour cream sauce.
- Place in an oven heated to 180 ° C. Bake for 40-50 minutes, until cooked.
- When serving, you can sprinkle cabbage rolls with finely chopped dill.
