Step cooking
Teriyaki sauce
- In a saucepan, mix ½ cup soy sauce, 2 cloves of garlic, passed through a press, 1 tbsp. l honey, 1 tsp grated ginger, 1 tsp. olive oil, 1 tbsp. l wine vinegar, a quarter cup of water, 3 tsp. starch and ¼ cup cane sugar (can be replaced with ordinary) and put on fire.
- Bring the sauce to a boil over low heat and boil for 5 minutes, remove from the stove and let cool. Do not worry that at first the sauce will be too liquid - after cooling it will thicken.
Cooking Chicken
- While the sauce is cooling, wash and dry the chicken fillet with paper towels, and then cut into small oblong pieces. Pour the chicken with sauce and leave it to marinate for 20-30 minutes, but if you are in a hurry, you can start cooking further.
- Peel the carrots from the top layer and cut into thin strips. Rubbing is not recommended, as the vegetable will let in excess juice and will not be able to keep in shape.
- We wash the bell pepper and remove the seeds. Also cut into oblong straws.
- Pour a little vegetable oil into the pan and send chopped vegetables to it. Fry for a couple of minutes so that the carrots and peppers are slightly browned, but remain elastic inside.
- After 20 minutes, lay the chicken pieces in a frying pan and fry for 7 minutes, then pour out the remaining sauce and stew the meat until another 5-6 minutes are cooked.
- Add vegetables to the finished chicken, mix and immediately remove from heat.
- Sprinkle teriyaki chicken with sesame seeds, serve a dish with fresh herbs, any side dish (rice, noodles, potatoes, vegetables) and a glass of sake.
Teriyaki - almost universal sauce; with it you can cook not only chicken, but also pork, beef, turkey, fish and other seafood, vegetables, and it can also be served with a side dish as a dressing.
