Kitchen appliances and utensils: bread machine, kitchen scale, measuring cup, sieve, kitchen board, tablespoon and teaspoon, pot holders.

corn flour 200 g
kefir 1% 340 ml
dry yeast 2 tsp
salt 1 tsp
sugar 1 tbsp. l
chicken egg 1 PC.
baking powder for the dough 1 tsp

Step cooking

  1. For convenience, you can get a container from the bread machine. Depending on what is indicated in the instructions for your bread machine, you need to place the ingredients for the bread in it. In some, dry components go first, and then liquid ones, in others - vice versa. Proceed from this rule. First, pour 2 tsp. dry yeast.
    First, pour dry yeast into the bread bucket.
  2. Then, using a sieve, sift 300 g of wheat flour into it. And immediately sift 200 g of cornmeal. Increasing the amount of cornmeal is not worth it, as it makes the bread crumbly.
    Add wheat and corn flour.
  3. Pour into flour 1 tbsp. l sugar and 1 tsp. salt. After that, add 1 tsp. baking powder for dough.
    Add sugar, salt, baking powder.
  4. Now it's the turn of liquid components. Pour one chicken egg into a container with flour and pour about 340 ml of kefir with a fat content of 1%. Keep in mind that the amount of liquid may vary slightly depending on what type of flour and egg size you have.
    We introduce the egg and kefir to the dry components.
  5. Place the container back into the bread maker, turn it on and select the Main / White Bread program.
    Set the bucket of ingredients in the bread machine.
  6. Based on the varieties of bread machines, on average, baking bread in this mode takes 3-3.5 hours. After the first 5 minutes of operation of the bread maker, observe how the dough is formed, it should not stick to the walls of the container. If flour remains during kneading, then add more kefir. If the dough is very thin and spills, add a little flour. Then do not open the lid of the breadmaker until the end of cooking, as it will notify you with a signal.
    Cooking in a bread machine will take approximately 3-3.5 hours.
  7. When ready, carefully remove the container from the bread maker using tacks, then remove the bread and place on a kitchen board or wire rack to allow it to cool.
    Appetizing corn bread cooked in a bread maker will delight you with a delicious crispy crust.
Did you know? When you sprinkle dry ingredients, you can add a bit of turmeric for a more intense yellow color. Thus, you will make the taste of bread more interesting.
