Kitchen appliances and utensils: garlic press or fine grater, bowl, whisk, frying pan, hob, knife, measuring cup, paper towel or napkin.
Ingredients
Product | amount |
Large shrimp | 1 kg |
Purified water | 100 ml |
Premium wheat flour | 250 g |
Soy sauce | 20-30 ml (1 tbsp. L.) |
Baking powder for the dough | 1 tsp |
Garlic | 3-4 cloves |
Egg | 1 PC. |
Vegetable oil | 100 ml |
Step cooking
- The water should be icy, so first put 100 ml in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
- Peel 3 cloves of garlic and squeeze it into a bowl through a press or grate on a fine grater.
- Beat one egg and add very cold water, whisking the contents of the bowl with a whisk.
- Pour 1 tablespoon of classic soy sauce and pour 150 grams of wheat flour with a teaspoon of baking powder, mix thoroughly.
- The consistency of the resulting batter should be like thick sour cream.
- Peel 1 kg of king or tiger shrimp. This is done as follows: first the head comes off, then the main shell is removed, and you leave the tail. A good way is also when, having removed your head, with the help of scissors you cut the shell along the upper part of the shrimp - the ridge - up to the tail, and then take off all the “clothes” except the end. In this case, you can easily get to the intestine, which is located under the ridge, because we cut the carcass itself.
- Pour 100 ml of refined sunflower oil into the pan, heat it well. Roll the purified marine product in the remaining flour, then dip into liquid batter.
- Put several in a frying pan and fry until golden brown on both sides - about 1 minute.
- Spread the finished shrimp on a plate covered with a paper towel so that it absorbs excess fat.
A delicious snack is ready, bon appetit! Serve along with white or red wine, as well as beer - depending on your preferences. Also, do not forget to put lemon slices and green lettuce on the same plate with shrimp. Try also making sour cream and garlic sauce by simply mixing a little dairy product with chopped garlic, dill and salt. This is a simple and quick sauce recipe, but it goes well with fried and boiled seafood.
