Ingredients
Components | Proportions |
crab sticks | 6 pcs |
egg | 1 PC. |
hard cheese | 50 g |
garlic | 2-3 cloves |
mayonnaise | 20-30 g |
sea or table salt | optional |
Wheat flour | 30-40 g |
vegetable oil | 20-30 ml |
Step cooking
Make the filling
- Grind 50 g of cheese on a fine grater, preferably hard varieties.
- We peel three cloves of garlic from the husk, and then pass them through the garlic squeezer. We mix the grated cheese and the garlic mass, and then add 20-30 g of fatty mayonnaise to them. Do not add too much mayonnaise, otherwise the filling may fall out when frying crab sticks. We add a pinch of salt there and mix the ingredients well. If desired, finely chopped parsley and dill greens can be added to the filling.
Make batter
- In a separate shallow bowl, break one chicken egg.
- There we add 30-40 g of wheat flour and 1 pinch of salt. It is also allowed to add spices such as ground paprika, ground black pepper, basil, turmeric, dried herbs.
- Using a fork or whisk, stir the ingredients until a homogeneous, viscous consistency is obtained.
We will prepare the products
- We send the pan to a medium heat and pour 20-30 ml of vegetable oil into it.
- While the oil is warming up, carefully unfold six crab sticks. Using a teaspoon, spread a small amount of cheese filling and gently roll the crab stick, forming a roll of it. Do the same with the rest of the chopsticks.
- We take the formed roll in the hand, and then carefully roll it in batter. We send the workpiece to the hot oil and get to the rest of the rolls.
- Fry the product on each side for 20-30 seconds until the batter thoroughly “seizes” and acquires an amber shade.
- Put the finished treat on a paper towel to get rid of excess oil. We serve crab sticks as a snack or as an independent dish.
