Kitchen appliances and utensils: a stove, three small bowls, a pan with a lid, a tablespoon or spatula, a large sieve.
Ingredients
Dried apples | 70 g |
Raisins | 50 g |
Dried apricots | 50 g |
Ground cinnamon | 0.5 tsp |
Sugar | 1 tbsp. l |
Water | 2.5 - 3 L |
Step cooking
- Pour dried apples, dried apricots and raisins with water for 15 minutes so that they are covered with liquid. Separate each product in separate bowls.
- Using a sieve, thoroughly rinse the dried fruits from small twigs and seeds, send to a pan with boiled water. Cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
- After time, add sugar and cinnamon to the compote to taste. After turning off the fire, cover the pan with a lid and let the compote stand for as long as possible, this will significantly affect the degree of taste saturation.
Decoration methods and serving options
Compote is a versatile drink for serving both hot and chilled. Depending on the method of serving the drink, you can supplement its taste with auxiliary ingredients.
For example, for a richer sweetness, you can use honey, but add it to the cooled compote already, so honey will not lose its useful properties.
For a sour taste, add 1 tsp. citric acid, juice of half a lemon or 1 tsp. lemon concentrate, depending on your preference.
An excellent combination with dried fruits will be spicy spices. For piquancy, use clove flowers. Ginger root will add a pleasant bitterness - use only a few thin slices on a saucepan or its counterpart, cardamom, which has a more delicate taste, just add a few grains of it.
