Kitchen appliances and utensils
- cutting board,
- 10 liter pan
- knife,
- plate,
- liquid drain cover,
- 3 three-liter cans,
- 3 sealing covers,
- glass,
- deep mug or ladle.
Ingredients
- Plums - 2 kg
- Apples - 2 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Water - 5-6 L
- Citric acid - if necessary
Step cooking
- Rinse thoroughly with 2 kg of plums and apples. Varieties of fruits can be any, but it is desirable that sourness is present. Plums, without cutting, stack in prepared 3-liter jars. They should cover about 1/3 of the capacity.
- Pour plums with boiling water. Water should either fill the jar completely, or at least occupy 2/3 of its volume. We cover the jars with lids and leave for 5-10 minutes.
- We cut the apples in half or quarter, and remove the core from them. Cut fruit into large plates.
- Using a special lid with holes, drain the water from the cans into a deep (10-liter) pan. The liquid should be soaked with plum juice and acquire an appropriate shade.
- Add sugar to the water at the rate of 300-350 g per 1 jar. As a result, about 1 kg of sugar will be required. If apples and plums are absolutely not sour, then add citric acid to taste.
- We put the pan on the fire and boil the syrup until it begins to thicken. While the syrup is boiling, fill the jars with plums with apple slices. With so many apples, there will be a lot of them. If you want less, take 1-1.5 kg.
- When the sugar syrup is boiled, we fill them with cans to the top so that the fruits are completely covered.
- We twist the filled cans with lids and leave to cool. Thanks to boiling water, cans and lids are sterilized by themselves, but if you think this is not enough, sterilize them additionally.
