Step cooking
- Pour dried apricots and raisins in a colander, rinse under hot running water from excess twigs and seeds. If dried fruits are sufficiently dense and tight in structure, then before processing, pour the ingredients into separate bowls and steam for 15-20 minutes in boiling water
- Boil water in a pan, when characteristic bubbles appear, add sugar, dried apricots and raisins, mix until sugar is completely dissolved. Bring this mixture to a boil and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
- After the time has passed, turn off the heat, cover the pan and allow as much time as possible to infuse the drink to acquire a rich taste.
Decoration methods and serving options
Stewed apricots and raisins have a pleasant and light taste. By adding additional ingredients, you can easily diversify the taste of the drink. For more pronounced sweetness, add prunes. Dried rose hips will significantly affect the color of compote, as well as enrich it with vitamins.
If you prefer more sour tastes, then use the juice of one lemon. Give sourness and will be able to use 1 tbsp. l citric acid, but be careful, add this powder only to a chilled drink.
Spices will be a great addition to a light compote of dried fruits. For example, 1 stick of cinnamon will give a wonderful spicy aroma, but if cinnamon is not at hand in sticks, use 0.5 tsp. cinnamon powder. Other varieties of additives \: several flowers of cloves, star anise anise or cardamom.
