Kitchen appliances and utensils
- kitchen stove,
- pan,
- can of 3 liters,
- cap,
- glass,
- sealing key.
Ingredients
- Feijoa - 13 - 15 pcs.
- Sugar - 1.5 - 2 stacks.
- Water - 3 L
Step cooking
- As usual, before starting to roll up, it is necessary to prepare cans and lids. First you need to thoroughly wash the jars, and then sterilize them for a couple, in the oven or in the microwave. Lids must also be sterilized. To do this, place them in any container and pour cool boiling water for a while. If you do not have time for this procedure at all, then you can not sterilize the banks.
- Then prepare the feijoa. If you use a jar of 3 liters, then the fruits should only be washed thoroughly, no need to cut the berries or cut the stalks. If you use jars of a smaller volume, you can cut each fruit into several parts, but this will not particularly affect the taste of compote.
- In the bank we put from 13 to 15 pieces of feijoa. Accordingly, in a smaller bank, the amount of fruit should be less. Since the fruit has a rich taste with acidity, you do not need to put a lot of berries, otherwise the compote will turn out to be too concentrated, and you will have to dilute it with water ready-made.
- Then pour 1.5 - 2 cups of sugar. There are no strict proportions in the amount of sugar, as well as in the number of fruits, it all depends on your taste and preferences. If you like sweet compote, add more sugar, if you like sour taste, then less.
- Bring the water to a boil and fill the jar with boiling water to the top.
- We cover the jar with a lid and roll it well.
- Then shake the jar to completely dissolve the sugar, turn the lid down and visually check the lid for leaks so that water does not leak and air bubbles do not run up. Then we cover the jar with a warm blanket and leave it overnight until it cools completely. The cooled cans with compote are removed to the place for storing the seals.
