Ingredients
water | 2 l |
prunes | 300 g |
dried apricot | 100 g |
sugar | 0.5 stack |
Step cooking
- We put a pan (3 l) on the hob, pour water (2 l) into it and turn on the stove on medium heat.
- We put the prunes in a deep bowl, rinse with cold, running water several times until the water becomes clear, thereby getting rid of various small debris, which is often found in dried fruits. You can also fill them with hot water and let stand for 20 minutes. Dried fruits from this will not lose their beneficial qualities.
- Dried apricots are also washed in clean running water. With dried apricots, you can do the same procedures as with prunes. Fruits must be of good quality. When buying, you need to pay attention to the appearance of dried fruits - there should not be black dots, mold, they must have a stable shape. In dried fruits, almost all useful vitamins and minerals are preserved, they are very sweet, but they do not increase blood sugar, so they are also useful.
- When the water in the pan begins to boil, add dried fruits there, add sugar (0.5 cup), bring to a boil and remove from heat. Try the compote to taste - if there is not enough acidity, you can add lemon. Compote of dried fruits is universal, you can add dried apples, pears, raisins, cranberries to it.
- We give the opportunity to brew for about 24 hours. After that, filter through a colander. You can store dried fruit compote in a glass bowl, in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
