Ingredients
- Kohlrabi - 1 pcs.
- Onions - 1 pc.
- Carrots - 1 pc.
- Vegetable oil - 50-70 g
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp.
Step cooking
- First, peel 1 medium onion of husk and cut into small cubes.
- Then we pour 50-70 g of vegetable oil for frying in a pan and warm it well.
- Spread the chopped onion in a preheated pan and, stirring occasionally, fry until golden. During frying, you can add a pinch of flour or sugar to the onion. This will collect the moisture released from the onion, and the fried onion will look much more beautiful and appetizing.
- We put the finished onions in a separate container and leave to cool. If you leave the onions in a pan, it may burn, as the frying will continue until the pan cools down.
- While the onion cools, we proceed to the preparation of vegetables. 1 kohlrabi peel and coarse fibers. Then remove the peel from two medium-sized carrots, rinse them thoroughly and dry them with a paper towel.
- We rub kohlrabi and carrots on a coarse grater or shredder. For this salad, Korean carrot grater is ideal.
- Shred the vegetables into a deep bowl. Next, add 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp ground black pepper. Mix thoroughly. Then season with fried onions in vegetable oil and mix again. If desired, this salad can be seasoned with mayonnaise, sour cream or natural thick yogurt. Also, instead of kohlrabi, you can safely use turnips.
- We shift the ready-made salad into a salad bowl, decorate with a sprig of greenery. Optionally, you can cut out a figure from onions or other vegetables, and decorate them with a salad before serving. Enjoy your meal.
