Kitchen appliances and utensils: stove, turk, mortar / mill.
Ingredients
Cardamom | 6 to 8 grains |
Ground coffee | 2 - 2.5 tsp |
Water | 100 - 120 ml |
Step cooking
- Take 6 - 8 cardamom grains and grind in a mortar to a state of fine powder. You can also use a mill for the grinding process, but the aroma of the grains after grinding in a mortar is more saturated. You can also use the whole grain, however, the flavor will also not be fully disclosed.
- Pour the crushed cardamom grains into a Turk. Add 2 - 2.5 tbsp. l natural ground coffee.
- Boil water in the meantime. Pour the mixture of coffee and spices with boiled water in an amount of 100 - 120 ml.
- Set the Turk to maximum heat until the first foam is raised. While cooking, constantly mix the mixture in a turk.
- Transfer the foam to the dishes for serving, then pour the coffee itself.
Alternative cooking methods
One of the traditional methods of making coffee with cardamom is to add saffron and rose water. To do this, pour four glasses of water into a stewpan or pan, bring to a boil.
Then add 3 tsp. coffee, 1 tsp ground cardamom and 0.5 tsp. saffron. Cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Remove coffee from heat and strain.
Then return the mixture to the fire and bring to a boil. After the appearance of characteristic bubbles, remove from the stove and add a few tablespoons of pink water to the coffee. The drink is ready to drink.
Decoration methods and serving options
Ready coffee, as a rule, is not recommended to serve immediately after removing from heat. In order for the drink to be filled with all the flavors of cardamom spices, it is covered with a tight lid and allowed to brew for several minutes.
Milk goes well with coffee and cardamom. You can add it in both cold and warm conditions. Fans of strong drinks will enjoy serving aromatic coffee with a drop of cognac. And if you want to make the drink absolutely oriental, offer dried fruits, nuts or pastries for serving.
