Step cooking
- First you need to soak the poppy in hot water. Pour 50 g of poppy seeds in a small bowl and pour 100 ml of boiling water. While we are kneading the dough, it will have time to swell and will be ready for use. If desired, you can use ready-made poppy seed filling. In a separate container we combine with soda and mix gently. In a deep bowl for kneading dough we drive 3 eggs, pour 1 tbsp. sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat with a whisk until bubbles appear and mass increases in volume. You can use a mixer if desired.
- Pour into a container for the remaining ingredients 1 tbsp. sour milk. Mix thoroughly.
- Sift the flour with soda and begin to knead the dough for the pie.
- Finally, pour 2-3 tbsp. l flavourless vegetable oil and again mix thoroughly. We make sure that there are no lumps of flour in the dough. The finished dough by consistency should look like a fairly thick sour cream.
- We throw the poppy into a colander and let the whole liquid drain. If necessary, grease the cake pan with butter. We spread half of the dough, and on top of it is a layer of prepared poppy. Pour the remaining dough on top, gently smooth the surface, if necessary.
- Preheat the oven to 180-200 degrees. We put the baking dish in a preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes. We leave the finished cake to cool slightly and, if desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar on top. Enjoy your meal.
Useful Tips
- To make the cupcake a beautiful yellow color, you need to grind the egg yolk from the refrigerator with salt and add it to the dough.
- To prevent the baking from burning, you can put a small container of water in the oven.
- If you line the mold with baking paper and grease it with vegetable oil, removing the cupcake from the mold is easy.
- If you want to make a round cupcake with a hole in the middle, but there is no special shape, you can put a tin can or an iron mug with salt or cereal in the center of the usual form.
- It is better to cut the cupcake hot so that it does not crumple. For this purpose, you can use a dense thread or fishing line.
