Kitchen appliances and utensils
- oven;
- a baking sheet;
- parchment paper;
- knife;
- cutting board.
Ingredients
- Apples - 1 kg
Step cooking
- Pick 1 kg of apples that have a firm and firm flesh. Remove leaves and stalks, wash and dry the fruit thoroughly.
- Cut apples into slices: cut the apple in half, cut the core and cut into slices. Make sure that the thickness of the slices is the same, then the apples will dry evenly (about 5 mm). Also, apples can be cut in another way: remove the core with a round tube, then cut the apple with "bagels", 4-5 mm thick.
- Turn on the oven at 50-60 degrees and wait until it warms up. While the oven is heating, cover the pan with parchment paper and lay the chopped apples on it. Do not put the fruits too close together - they may stick together.
- Place apples in a preheated oven and dry for 5-8 hours. If you have an oven without ventilation, you need to keep the door ajar so that excess moisture evaporates. Stir fruits periodically during cooking so that they do not stick together and do not burn. If the oven is ventilated, drying will be reduced by 2 times (it is not necessary to keep the door ajar).
- After 5-8 hours, check the readiness of the apples: they should be elastic and flexible, not stick to your hands. If you prefer drier fruits, the drying time should be extended.
- When the dried fruits are ready, cool them and place in a container convenient for you: a jar, a box, a paper bag or a linen bag. Dried fruits can be stored for up to 2 years in a dark, dry, cool place.
