- When the catfish steaks have dried, sprinkle them on top with 2 pinches of salt and 1.5 pinches of ground black pepper, then turn them on the other side and also sprinkle with 2 pinches of salt and 1.5 pinches of pepper, and leave the fish for a few minutes.
Steak Roasting
- Break 2 chicken eggs into a deep container and beat them with a mixer until smooth. In a plastic bag, pour 4 tbsp. l flour.
- We put a frying pan on the stove or frying surface, pour 1.5-2 tbsp. l sunflower oil and leave to warm over medium heat.
- We take one steak, put it in a plastic bag with flour, close the bag and turn the fish over several times so that it is well rolled in flour.
- We take out a piece of catfish, boned in flour, and dip it into eggs whipped in a deep container.
- Together with the container, in order not to stain the table and plate with dripping batter, we transfer the fish to the pan and put it into the already warmed sunflower oil. In a similar way we do with other pieces.
- Fry steaks for 7 minutes over medium heat until golden brown. Do not cover with a lid so that the moisture from the frozen meat completely evaporates. After 7 minutes, turn the spatula to the other side and fry another 7 minutes until the same golden color is obtained.
- After 7 minutes have passed, turn off the fire under the pan and leave the steaks to reach another 1-2 minutes. Remove the prepared catfish steak from the pan, put it on a dinner plate with a side dish and serve.
Important!Those who prefer more juicy fatty fish meat can fry steaks in breadcrumbs. To do this, after the breading, dip the fish in beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs, then dip in the eggs again, then roll again in breadcrumbs, and this process should be repeated 2 more times, and then proceed to frying the steaks. Such a protective crust will help keep healthy fat in the meat.
