How to choose rice for pilaf
Among a large number of different rice varieties, it can be difficult to decide which rice is best to choose for a particular dish. We suggest you pay attention to the following recommendations that will help you not to be mistaken in this matter:
- Solid long-grain rice varieties are best suited for the preparation of loose pilaf.
- You can’t make traditional oriental pilaf from steamed rice. But, despite this, many housewives fell in love with this type of cereal because of its friability and useful properties.
- Round rice is not suitable for cooking pilaf. Too much stickiness is characteristic of it, which is provided due to the presence of starch in it.
- Thai and Vietnamese rice boil too quickly, so these types are best used for making cereals.
