Ingredients
- gooseberry - 1 kg
- orange - 1 pc.
- sugar - 1-1.2 kg
Step cooking
- To make jam, choose a well-ripened gooseberry. Rinse 1 kg of berries thoroughly under cold running water, and then remove all tails and spoiled berries. Place the peeled gooseberries in a deep pan.
- Using a blender, grind gooseberries to a homogeneous mass. If there is no blender, you can skip the berries through a meat grinder.
- Then pour 1 kg of sugar into the pan. If you are using insufficiently ripe gooseberries, then add more sugar to prevent the jam from becoming too acidic.
- Then carefully mix the gooseberries with sugar to completely melt it. Sugar should be completely dissolved, otherwise the jam will not be able to be stored for a long time.
- Rinse 1 orange and cut it into small slices with zest. Then put the orange in the blender bowl and chop it until smooth. If you want slices of zest to be present in the jam, do not chop the orange to the end.
- Mix gooseberries with orange well so that everything is evenly distributed. If desired, you can use a lemon instead of an orange, or add both to the jam, from which it will only be tastier and more refined.
- Sterilize jam jars in advance. To do this, you can install a metal sieve on the pan, and put the cans upside down on it. Water will boil and steam over banks. Sterilize the container for about 10-15 minutes, and boil the lids in water. You can also do this with an oven or microwave. Then place the cans on a clean kitchen towel without turning over. Pour the jam into sterile jars using a ladle, and then pour on top of the jam for about 1-2 tbsp. l Sahara. Then close the jars with lids and place the jam in the refrigerator for storage.
