Ingredients
- wheat flour - 400 g
- egg - 1 pc.
- honey - 165 g
- sugar - 100 g
- ground ginger - 1.5 tsp.
- cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- butter - 125 g
- soda - 2 tsp.
- egg white - 1 pc.
- icing sugar - 200 g
- citric acid - a pinch
- mastic - 1 sheet
- vodka - 5 g
- decor gel - 5 g
Step cooking
Cooking Gingerbread Cookies
- In a deep refractory container, mix 165 g of honey, 100 g of sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1.5 tsp ground ginger. Mix everything thoroughly and put on fire.
- Constantly stirring, bring the mixture to a boil.
- After boiling, reduce the heat and cook the mixture until sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add to the resulting liquid 2 tsp. soda. Mix everything thoroughly.
- We put in the contents of the container 125 g of softened butter.
- We cool the mixture to about 60 ° C, add 1 egg to it and mix everything with a mixer.
- Gradually introduce 400 g of sifted wheat flour into the resulting mass.
- Knead the dough, wrap it in cling film and put in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Roll out the cooled dough into a 4 mm thick layer.
- Using stencils, we cut out the necessary figures from the dough.
- We transfer the workpieces to the baking sheet and send it to the oven preheated to 185 ° C for 8 minutes.
Cooking Frosting
- At the lowest mixer speed, beat 1 egg white.
- Gradually introduce 200 g of powdered sugar to the protein, increasing the speed of the mixer to an average mark.
- Add a pinch of citric acid to the mass and continue whisking the icing.
- Using a pastry bag, fill the gingerbread with the finished glaze.
Decorate the gingerbread cookies
- We roll 1 sheet of mastic into a thin layer and cover it with vodka using a food brush.
- We paste prepared images onto a layer of vodka, cover everything with napkins and pass a rolling pin along them.
- Using a knife, crop the mastic along the contour of the image.
- Insert the skewers into the gingerbread cookies.
- We distribute the decor gel according to the mastic and glue the workpiece over the gingerbread glaze.
