Step cooking
Ginger cookie
- Dry ingredients are mixed first. Mix a glass of flour with one teaspoon of cinnamon. Add a teaspoon of ground dry ginger, one fourth of a teaspoon of ground nutmeg, a quarter of a spoon of salt and half a teaspoon of soda. You can also add cloves, cardamom or black pepper to taste. Mix well.
- Heat a little 180 grams of butter in the microwave. Add cane (or white) sugar and beat with a mixer to a state of splendor. Cane sugar itself will enhance the taste, give a more saturated color, and also add a caramel flavor.
- In a whipped mass, add one egg and three tablespoons of honey. At home, honey replaces molasses.
- Stir a little, and then start gradually adding the flour mixture. The dough is quite dense, so you can mix it with a spatula.
- Make a ball from the dough and divide it into two parts. It should be soft and non-sticky.
- Take it and wrap in cling film.
- Put the dough in the refrigerator for at least one hour, maximum for one night. If you want to speed up the cooking process, then put the dough in the freezer for fifteen minutes. After time, take a sheet of parchment, lightly sprinkle it with flour. Remove the dough and roll it thinly.
- Cover the dough with cling film to prevent excess flour from entering. The first layer should approximately get about 4-5 mm, the second - a little thinner - 3-4 mm.
- Then use the shapes to cut out the cookie itself.
- After everything is ready, carefully move the cookies onto a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Place them at a distance from each other.
- Send the cookies to the preheated oven (180 degrees) for five to twelve minutes, depending on the thickness of the cookies and the oven. It is very important not to overdo it, as it becomes harder as it cools. Remove the remaining dough briefly in the refrigerator, and then roll it out again and make cookies out of it. Keep the remaining unused dough in the refrigerator. You can decorate with sugar icing. Serve cooled.
Glaze preparation
- Pour half a tablespoon of powdered sugar into a bowl.
- Then add about three to four teaspoons of milk. It is important to add milk gradually, each time mixing well. The glaze should not turn out liquid, otherwise it will not keep its shape.
- Transfer finished glaze to any kitchen bag.
- Cut a very small corner. Next, decorate the cookies as you wish.
Enjoy your meal!
Ways to serve and decorate dishes
In addition to the proposed option for decorating with sugar icing, cookies can be decorated with royal matte or chocolate icing. You can decorate the holiday cake yourself with cookies or serve along with a sweet cake.
