Ingredients
- Hot Dog Buns - 10 pcs.
- Sausages or sausages - 10 pcs.
- Bacon - 3-4 slices
- Shallot - 4-5 pcs.
- Olive oil - 5 tbsp. l
- Salt - a pinch
- Balsamic sauce - 1/4 tsp.
- Ordinary sugar, optionally - 1 tsp.B
- Avar mustard - 100 g
- Smoked paprika –1 tsp
- Dried Chilli - to taste
- Fresh salad - 4-5 sheets
- Red cabbage - 1/4 head of cabbage
- Peking cabbage - 1/3 head of cabbage
- Carrots - 1/2 pcs.
- Sesame - 1/2 tbsp. l
- Green onion - a pinch
- Dijon mustard - 1 tbsp. l
- Onions - 1/4 pcs.
- Rice or wine vinegar - 3.5 tbsp. l
- Brown sugar - 1 tsp.
- Sweet mustard - 100 g
- Fresh ginger - 1/2 tsp.
- Ketchup - 1 tbsp. l
Step cooking
- We will cook a hot dog with two different fillings. The first is done in a more American style, it will require 3-4 slices of bacon, which must be thoroughly fried. We heat the dry pan and spread the slices of bacon on it. Fry on each side for 2-3 minutes over medium heat. Bacon should become crispy. We shift the bacon fried on both sides onto a flat dish covered with paper towels. We let the bacon lie down for a couple of seconds so that the stack is excess fat. After cooling, the fried bacon is cut into small pieces.
- Shallots in the amount of 4-5 pcs. peel and cut into thin half rings. If you do not have such an onion, then you can use any other, including onion. Cut a lot of onions, because it will need to be caramelized.
- Caramelize onions must be in a pan with a thick bottom. Pour into the pan 2 tbsp. l olive oil and let it warm up a little on the stove. In a preheated pan with oil, we send chopped onions. Fry over medium heat, periodically stirring the onion with a spatula. On average, the caramelization process takes 30 minutes. In the process of frying, onions must be salt, adding a pinch of salt. Also, if desired, add 1/4 tsp to the onion after 10-15 minutes. balsamic sauce and mix well. A similar ingredient is used not so much for taste as for giving the onion a dark color. Simultaneously with balsamic sauce we send to the pan to the onion, if desired, 1 tsp. ordinary sugar. Fry the onion over medium heat for another 15 minutes.
- We start preparing American-style hot dog sauce. To do this, send 100 g of Bavarian mustard to a small bowl. Add 1 tsp to mustard. smoked paprika. Add dried chili pepper to taste, and mix all the ingredients well.
- Hot buns will need 10 rolls to make. You can buy them in the store already ready, or bake them yourself. A similar number of sausages will also be required. It is better to use slightly smoked sausages, but you can take any others that you like best.
- Sausages need to be fried on an electric grill, but if you do not have such kitchen appliances, then fry sausages in an ordinary dry frying pan.
- In the pastry bag we transfer the resulting mustard sauce. Cut the hot dog roll along, but not to the end. Half of the hot dogs will be cooked in American style with lettuce. In total, 5 pieces will be required, each sheet is inserted into an incision in a bun.
- Inside the bun and on top of the salad we put a sausage. We also fill the hot dog with caramelized onions, pour the chopped bacon inside and pour everything to taste with ketchup.
- At the end, complement the American-style hot dogs with mustard sauce. The hot dog is ready and you can eat it. An appetizer made according to this recipe is very tasty.
- We also prepare an Asian-style hot dog, it is no less tasty and juicy. We wash about a quarter of a head of red cabbage and finely chop it into strips. Send shredded red cabbage into a deep bowl.
- A third of the head of Beijing cabbage is also finely chopped and added to a bowl of red cabbage.
- A quarter of a small onion is cut into thin half rings and sent to the bowl with cabbage.
- Asian-style hot dogs will need half the fresh carrots. It must be grated for Korean carrots and added to other vegetables in a bowl. Gently mix all the vegetables in the bowl with your hands, squeezing lightly. Vegetables should be juicier and softer.
- For hot dogs a special sauce is used. To prepare it, put 1 tbsp in a small plate. l Dijon mustard. Pour about 3 tablespoons into a bowl of mustard. l rice or wine vinegar. In the sauce add 3 tbsp. l olive oil. To make the sauce more spicy, add hot chili pepper to taste.
- To the remaining ingredients for the sauce, add 1 tsp. brown sugar and a pinch of salt. All products are thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous consistency. Pour the resulting sauce into a bowl with cabbage and other vegetables. Mix everything thoroughly. Dress vegetables 1/2 tbsp. l sesame and re-mix everything carefully.
- We will fill Asian hot dogs with a special sauce, which will require 100 g of sweet mustard. Finely chop fresh ginger. In total, it will take 1/2 tsp for the sauce. Finely chopped ginger is sent to sweet mustard. Also in the sauce add 1 tbsp. l ketchup and pour 1/2 tbsp. l wine or rice vinegar. Mix all the products for the sauce until smooth.
- We proceed directly to the preparation of Asian hot dogs. We also make a large incision along the entire bun and put in it grilled sausages. On top of the sausages, spread the vegetable salad with dressing. At the end, pour everything with mustard sauce and sprinkle with a pinch of chopped green onions. Similarly, we design the rest of the Asian-style hot dogs. Hot dogs in Asian and American style are ready. You can serve them to the table. They turn out very tasty, moderately sharp and spicy.
