Step cooking
Minced meat
- Stuffing can be prepared at home, just twist the meat in a meat grinder or grind it in a blender, or buy it ready. For the preparation of minced meat, you can use any meat: chicken, pork, beef, turkey or combine two types of meat. Spread the minced meat in a deep bowl. Add salt, pepper, zira to taste.
- Drive 2 eggs.
- Then we wash 1 cup of rice under running water and add it to the minced meat, you do not need to boil the rice beforehand, it will be perfectly cooked in cabbage rolls.
- Stuff the minced meat well so that all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- If it seems to you that the stuffing has become a little liquidy, add 1 - 2 tbsp. l semolina, it absorbs excess fluid.
- Finely chop one onion, chop 2 parsley branches. Add to the stuffing. Once again, mix the minced meat well and leave to stand.
Cabbage preparation
- Peking cabbage is great for stuffed cabbage. It boils quickly, and its leaves become very tender and soft. To begin with, we cut the coarse part of the cabbage at 2 - 3 cm, so that it is easy to disassemble into leaves.
- Whole cabbage is sent to boiling water, cook it for 2 - 3 minutes. It itself will disintegrate during cooking and with the help of special tongs we take out the leaves one by one.
Sauce making
- In order to prepare a sauce for stewing cabbage rolls, prepare vegetables. Rub one carrot on a coarse grater. Sweet peppers will be cleaned of seeds and cut into strips of medium size. Grind two branches of parsley.
- We heat the pan with a thick bottom on the stove. Pour 2 tbsp. l Flavourless vegetable oil and ship all chopped ingredients. Fry over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are soft.
- Add marjoram, turmeric, sweet paprika to taste. You can use any other spices as you wish. Pour two glasses of tomato juice and one glass of meat broth. You can replace the broth with water or the water in which the cabbage was boiled.
- The sauce must be brought to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Stuffed cabbage roll formation
- We spread the cabbage leaf on the working surface. On one side we put the minced meat and twist the cabbage roll. The amount of minced meat depends on the size of the cabbage leaf and your preferences.
- Thus we form all the cabbage rolls. From this amount of ingredients, 14 cabbage rolls are obtained. Put the finished cabbage rolls in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
- Pour the finished sauce. All cabbage rolls should be covered with liquid. On top evenly distribute vegetables.
- We put stuffed cabbage in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes.
- Stuffed cabbage can be served with any side dish: mashed potatoes, pasta or just like that with sour cream. Enjoy your meal!
