Kitchen appliances and utensils:

Butter | 115-120 g |
Powdered sugar | 2.5 tbsp. l |

Step cooking
Cooking dough
- We take 115-120 g of butter at room temperature and mix it for about one minute. The oil should become creamy and uniform.
- Sift to oil 2.5 tbsp. l powdered sugar.
- Add salt and mix well for several minutes to make the mass homogeneous. We take one egg at room temperature and separate the yolk from the protein. In the dough, add only the yolk, and leave the protein to grease the cookies. Mix until smooth.
- In the resulting mass, sift 1 cup (250 ml) of flour or 150-160 g.
- Knead the dough. The flour should become wet, and the dough should be lumpy in appearance.
- We spread the dough on a plastic wrap and form a small log from it, so that the diameter along the entire length is approximately the same. Wrap in cling film and put in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Baking
- After 2 hours we take out the dough. It has become solid, and it is now easier to work with it. Divide the dough into 2 halves. We return one to the refrigerator. Grease the second half with protein and sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Cut the dough into pieces about 8 mm.
- Lay on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
- We take out the second half of the dough from the refrigerator and do the same. Grease with protein, sprinkle with white sugar, cut into pieces about 8 mm thick and spread on a baking sheet. We put the baking sheet in the oven, heated to 180 degrees, for 20-23 minutes. We leave the finished cookies for several minutes on a baking sheet, then transfer them to the rack until they cool completely.
Decoration methods and serving options
Cookies are a fairly versatile dish, it can be served on the table with such drinks: tea, coffee, juice, lemonade, compote, uzvar, kefir, milk, cocoa. Usually, cookies are included in the ranks of sweets, and served on the table with sweets, cake, fruits after the main dishes. But it is possible to use cookies as snacks, if you make it more salty or neutral in taste.
As for the French Saber cookies, it is customary to make it sweet, because without the icing sugar the dough will not have the correct texture.
You can decorate cookies at your discretion:
- sugar (white, brown), as in this recipe;
- icing sugar;
- jam;
- with glaze;
- nuts;
- chocolate
- coconut.
