Step cooking

  1. Thoroughly rinse and cleanse 1 kg of gooseberries from twigs and stalks. It can be one variety or several different.

  2. We shift the gooseberries into a cast-iron pot or any other deep container for cooking jam and pour 250 ml of cold water.
    Pour the berries into the pan and add water.
  3. We bring to a boil over low heat, often stirring so that the berries give juice, mix with water and boil in this mode.
    Boil the berries to make them soft.
  4. When the berry mixture boils for 5-10 minutes, add 1 kg of sugar to it. Mix and continue to cook until thickened.
    Add sugar to the berry mass.
  5. You can check this by dropping liquid on a plate - it should not spread.
    Cook the jam until thickened so that it does not spread on a plate if you drop a few drops on it.
  6. When the jam reaches the desired consistency, let it cool down a bit and interrupt it to the state of jam.
    We interrupt the finished mass with a blender.
  7. We sterilize the jars using any convenient method. Pour the jam, twist it with a lid and let cool at room temperature. Jam will thicken. It is stored in the refrigerator.
    Close the gooseberry jam into sterilized jars.
