Step cooking
- Thoroughly rinse and cleanse 1 kg of gooseberries from twigs and stalks. It can be one variety or several different.
- We shift the gooseberries into a cast-iron pot or any other deep container for cooking jam and pour 250 ml of cold water.
- We bring to a boil over low heat, often stirring so that the berries give juice, mix with water and boil in this mode.
- When the berry mixture boils for 5-10 minutes, add 1 kg of sugar to it. Mix and continue to cook until thickened.
- You can check this by dropping liquid on a plate - it should not spread.
- When the jam reaches the desired consistency, let it cool down a bit and interrupt it to the state of jam.
- We sterilize the jars using any convenient method. Pour the jam, twist it with a lid and let cool at room temperature. Jam will thicken. It is stored in the refrigerator.
