Step cooking
- On a coarse grater we rub 150 grams of feta cheese.
- Add 2 grams of Provence herbs to the cheese and mix well.
- We clean, thoroughly wash, cut into cubes and pass through a meat grinder 500 grams of potatoes. You can also grate the vegetable on a fine grater or kill in a blender. Peel the onion, wash it and also pass it through a meat grinder.
- We spread the potatoes with onions in a colander and mix. Thus, excess fluid drains, and with it starch.
- We shift the dry potato mass into a deep plate, add one chicken egg, salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
- Add 40 grams of wheat flour and mix again.
- Pour 50 grams of vegetable oil onto a non-stick frying pan and put on the stove.
- When the pan has warmed up, use a spoon to spread small flat cakes from our mass. Fry for a minute.
- We put a little cheese with herbs on top and cover it with one more layer of potatoes. Fry on the same side for another minute and turn it over.
- We cover the pan with a lid and fry potato pancakes for 3 minutes. Thus we do with all the potato and cheese mass.
- We cover the plate with paper towels and lay the finished potato pancakes on them.
Decoration methods and serving options
- If you have not found feta cheese, then you can safely replace it with feta cheese.
- In this case, as a filling, you can use everything that your imagination wishes. For example, cheese can be replaced with vegetables or minced meat.
- You can decorate this dish with fresh dill and homemade sour cream.
- Sauces such as mushroom, tomato and mayonnaise are also great.
- If you want to enhance the cheese flavor, then serve the cheese sauce to the dish.
- But if you want a little bit of spiciness, then in this case, apply satsebel or adjika to the pancakes.
- The dish is served hot as a snack or main course.
- If you add chopped herbs or bell pepper to the potato mass, then your pancakes will be not only tasty and fragrant, but also very beautiful.
