Step cooking
You can prepare the “Bag of the Robber” or Hungarian pancake, following the step-by-step recipe:
- Cut the meat into cubes about 2 cm and add a spoonful of flour to preserve the meat juices and make the sauce thicker. Meat must be rolled in flour immediately before frying.
- Wash the mushrooms, peel and cut into large pieces. Chop the bell pepper in the same way.
- If you like hot pepper, finely chop the required amount of hot pepper. Chop the onion finely. Optionally, you can also cut into half rings.
- Remove the peel from the tomatoes, pre-dousing them with boiling water. Cut into small cubes. Dilute the tomato paste with water to the consistency of sour cream.
- Chop parsley and garlic finely.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and lay the meat. Fry while stirring with a spatula until the meat changes color. Then put it on a plate.
- If necessary, add vegetable oil to the pan, spread onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, and fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and continue to fry, stirring with a spatula, 3-4 minutes. Add the diluted tomato paste. This component is optional in this dish, so you can not add it if you wish.
- Sprinkle paprika and mix well. Add your favorite seasonings and mix well. Put the fried meat in a frying pan, stir, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Stir again and add water so that the meat is slightly covered. Cover and simmer until meat is completely cooked (soft). Try it and, if necessary, add a little salt. Optionally, add some sugar.
- At the very end, add chopped herbs, garlic and mix. Then remove the pan from the heat.
- For potato pancakes, peel the potatoes and grate them on a medium grater or in a food processor. Also rub and onion, mix with potatoes.
- Add salt, a little ground black pepper and minced garlic if desired. Beat in an egg, stir in a tablespoon of flour and mix well.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Spread potato dough along the bottom of the pan with a 5 mm layer. Flatten and wait for a crust to form below. Then the potato can flip over. Do this with the dexterous movement of the shoulder blade very carefully and quickly. Fry on the other side until cooked. In total, approximately 5 pancakes are obtained from this amount of dough.
- Put the finished pancake on a plate for serving. Put the meat filling on half of the potato pancake and cover it with the second half. Top with sour cream and sprinkle with herbs and garlic.
