Step cooking
- We will prepare all the ingredients on the list and the work surface. Wash well 300 g of chicken breast and dry it with a paper towel. Cut the fillet into thin slices. Salt and pepper chicken on both sides to taste.
- In order for the shawarma to be healthy and dietary, the meat should be fried without the use of oil. It is best to fry the chicken in a grill pan. If you do not have such a pan, then the fillet can be fried in a simple pan or boiled. Put the chicken slices in a single layer on a well-heated grill pan and fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Another advantage of this pan is that the meat is juicy inside, with beautiful fried stripes from the grill. We put the finished meat on a plate and give it a rest.
- Let's make the sauce. For a healthy sauce, use 4 tbsp. l natural yogurt for one shawarma. It is a healthy alternative to a variety of sauces based on mayonnaise. It also goes well with vegetables and meat, gives the dish a creamy taste and lightness. Finely chop one clove of garlic and add to yogurt.
- Cut three feathers of green onions finely and send to the sauce. You can use any greens that you like. In addition to herbs, you can add spices and seasonings to your taste in the sauce.
- We cut the tomatoes in any shape - in cubes, thin slices, circles, this will not affect the taste. 200 g of white cabbage cut into thin strips. If your cabbage is not young, after cutting it needs to be crushed a little so that it starts up the juice and becomes more tender. Cut the prepared and rested meat into thin strips.
- We proceed to the formation of shawarma. On the working surface, unfold a sheet of pita bread. We spread cabbage with the first layer.
- Then lay out the tomatoes.
- Then pour the cabbage with sauce so that it is well soaked. If necessary, salt to taste. Spread chicken pieces.
- Bending the edges of the pita bread, we twist the shawarma. If desired, it can be fried in a dry frying pan, this shawarma will warm up, and you will get a delicious crispy crust. We put the shawarma on a plate, serve it and try.
