Ingredients
- Apples - 1 kg
- Cinnamon - 1 tbsp. l
- Citric acid - 1 tsp.
- Sugar - 350-400 g
Step cooking
- Apples (you will need approximately 1 kg) are thoroughly washed and cleaned from the core and pits (the skin is not cut off). Cut the peeled apples into small slices about 2-3 mm thick.
- We chopped apples into a deep container. Add to them 1 tbsp. l cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
- Then add another 1 tsp. To the container. citric acid and mix again.
- Lastly, add 300 g of sugar to apples and again thoroughly (but very carefully so as not to break the pieces), mix everything together. Sugar for the preparation of candied fruit from apples is better to take brown, however, in the absence of this, normal is quite suitable.
- We spread the resulting mixture with an even layer on a baking sheet, slightly tamping.
- Put the baking sheet with apples in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 25 minutes.
- After a specified period of time, remove the pan from the oven and let the apples cool.
- Take another clean baking sheet and cover it with parchment paper. Sprinkle a little sugar on top of parchment paper (you need about 50-100 g).
- We shift apples to a new baking sheet using a slotted spoon (without juice residues). Pour apples with the remaining sugar and cover with gauze on top.
- We put a baking sheet with apples in fresh air, preferably in a sunny place, for 2-3 days.
- After a specified period of time, the dried slices are transferred to a glass container or paper bags and stored in a dry place at room temperature. In this case, the container is not sealed.
