Step cooking
- A layer of puff pastry should be cut in half with a knife. One part is removed to the side, and the second remains for further processing.
- The working surface must be sprinkled with flour. Using a rolling pin, the dough is rolled up to a thickness of 5 millimeters.
- The rolled seam is first cut in half with a knife.
- Each of the halves obtained is also cut in half.
- In the same way, each of the resulting quarters is cut into 4 approximately equal squares. In total, 16 small squares should be obtained.
- Of the small squares are made "rosettes". To do this, a through cut of a length of 1.5-2 centimeters is made on the workpiece from each side in the middle.
- The workpiece turns to itself at an angle. After that, you need to take the lateral ends of the opposite “rhombuses" that formed from the incisions, and connect them together in parallel.
- A similar operation is carried out with two other “diamonds”, but their ends must be connected behind the already obtained figure.
- Angles looking up should be turned back. The result is a figure that looks like a blossoming rose.
- Spread baking sheet with parchment paper. Put blanks “rosettes” on it.
- In each "rose" with the help of a fork, the bottom is pierced. This is necessary so that when baking, the lower part of the dough does not rise, but only the “petals”.
- It remains to put about one berry of strawberry jam in each "rose" and the preparations are almost ready for baking.
- A chicken egg is broken into a separate container and beat thoroughly. The blanks are coated with a beaten egg using a cooking brush.
- At the last stage, the baking sheet with the workpieces moves into the preheated oven. Buns from puff pastry with jam are baked at a temperature of 200 ° C for 25 minutes. After this period, it remains to get the baking sheet from the oven and the baking is ready, bon appetit.
