Kitchen appliances and utensils:
- 2 deep containers;
- sieve;

- a board for kneading dough (or a silicone mat);

Kefir | 500 ml |
Vegetable oil | 3 tbsp. l |
Soda | 1 tsp (with a slide) |
Salt | 1 tsp |
Sugar or honey | 1 tbsp. l |
Premium wheat flour | 450 - 500 g |
Rye flour | 200 g |
Step cooking
- Using a sieve into a deep container, we sift wheat (400 g) and rye flour (200 g) alternately.
- In a container with 500 ml of kefir (kefir should be at room temperature), add 3 tbsp. l vegetable oil, 1 tsp (with a slide) of soda, 1 tsp. salt and 1 tbsp. l honey (you can take the same amount of sugar instead of honey). Mix everything thoroughly with a whisk. In a container with sifted flour in small portions, add the resulting liquid mass, thoroughly mixing everything together. You should have a fairly elastic, slightly sticky dough.
- Sprinkle the kneading board (or silicone mat) thoroughly with the remaining flour and spread the resulting dough on top. Sprinkle the dough with flour and form bread of any shape out of it at your discretion.
- The resulting workpiece is transferred to a baking sheet, previously covered with parchment paper for baking. Using a knife, we make small parallel cuts on top of the bread on top of the bread (there should be a distance of about 2 - 3 cm between them).
- We put the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees, for 30 minutes (the readiness of the bread should be checked with a thin wooden skewer if necessary). After 30 minutes, we take the bread out of the oven, let it cool down a bit, cut into portions and serve. Enjoy your meal!
Options for serving and decorating dishes
If desired, you can decorate the bread by sprinkling it with sesame seeds, poppy seeds or caraway seeds. Remember also that you can form it in absolutely any shape: round, in separate buns, baguette, in the form of a kalach, etc. - it all depends on your imagination. Such a fragrant bread can be served to the table with anything: with milk, with hard cheese, with jam and butter, etc.
