The content of the article
To begin with, we recall that peeling, whether it be Jesner, Medpil or Mediderm, is a cosmetic procedure that is focused on removing the dead skin layer and its rejuvenation. Peeling can be mechanical or chemical: in the first case, the skin is physically affected (using brushes, scrubs, hard masks, etc.), in the second case, the cosmetologist applies a solution to the face that penetrates the skin and dissolves dead cells. Jessner peeling refers to chemical procedures and has several varieties.
Composition and varieties
Like any type of dry cleaning, Jessner peeling is based on active substances. The three main components of the solution:
- lactic acid stimulates and accelerates the production of natural collagen, exfoliates dead cells and whitens the skin, eliminating age spots, binds moisture and directs it to the deeper layers of the dermis;
- salicylic acid gently regulates sebum secretion, drying the skin, has anti-inflammatory and disinfecting effects;
- resocin acts as an antiseptic, complementing the action of two acids and "linking" their elements together.
The solution contains 14% of each of the components. Regarding the effect on the skin, experts distinguish three types of peeling according to the depth of penetration into the dermis.
- Surface. Mild cleansing, 1 layer of solution is applied to the face. It allows you to narrow pores in a short time, saturate the skin with moisture and remove small defects (freckles, shallow traces of acne). Peeling is observed on average 2-3 days.
- Median. The solution is applied in three layers, due to which facial wrinkles, scars and traces of post-acne are smoothed out, age spots are discolored. Peeling lasts 4-7 days.
- Deep. Up to five layers of the composition are applied to the skin - deep wrinkles are smoothed out, age spots, irregularities and other defects completely disappear. This type of peeling is not suitable for sensitive skin: the procedure is accompanied by local redness of the skin, swelling, after a while a crust forms as if burned. The incubation period is 2-3 weeks.
Indications and contraindications
Experts recommend Jessner peeling if you have the following skin problems:
- post-acne, scars and other irregularities of the skin;
- violation of pigmentation (hyperpigmentation), freckles;
- increased greasy skin, seborrhea;
- blackheads, enlarged pores.
The procedure is not recommended for use with:
- damage to the skin (inflammatory processes, cuts, herpes, fungi, burns);
- pregnancy and while breastfeeding;
- autoimmune and oncological diseases, diabetes;
- individual intolerance (sensitive skin, allergy) of the components of the solution.
Reviews about the procedure
Do you want to resort to chemical peeling, but are not yet sure of your decision? Jessner peeling is a safe and effective procedure that does not have strict age restrictions - therefore, it is so popular among women. Below we have posted Jessner peeling reviews to help you decide.
- Maria, 19 years old. Did peeling Jessner on the advice of a cosmetologist. For several years now I have been suffering from rashes on my face, and mechanical cleansing gave only a temporary effect. She underwent 3 procedures with an interval of 2-3 weeks. The skin literally peeled off in layers, it was impossible to appear on the street. But the inflammation has passed completely! And the small scars smoothed out, the complexion became even, and the skin clean. I plan to make another session to consolidate the effect.
- Olga, 24 years old. I did not really hope for a positive result, and so it happened. The skin became smooth and acquired an even color, but acne did not go away. The salon said that success is highly dependent on the type and sensitivity of the skin. They offered to repeat, but so far I doubt it.
- Julia, 31 years old. I do peeling Jessner regularly! At first I made a deep and reduced freckles, now I visit the salon somewhere every 2 months. Recomend for everybody!
- Natalia, 28 years old. Three days ago, she returned from the salon after a mid peeling. The skin is still very peeling, in some places peeling off pieces, but the age spots are noticeably brightened. I'll see what happens next, while I’m quite happy with the result, but I need to take care of the skin and constantly moisturize it.
Jessner peeling is a universal procedure that can smooth out small wrinkles, discolor age spots and remove purulent inflammation in one session. The only negative is that you may have to spend several days or even weeks at home right after the salon until puffiness and other external manifestations on the skin pass.
